Juania Books is happy to introduce our next creative writer to host the Women’s Fiction Club’s Help Write a Novella series. M.A. Kear will be writing a Sci-Fi/Fantasy starting April 5th.
Now time out for a quick reminder: Even though it’s called Women’s Fiction Club, it’s not a reference to the gender of the author or reader or genre. The only rules for the WFC are that stories are fiction and the main character is female. Outside of that, WFC readers just want to know if the book is good!
Beginning this weekend, unedited chapters will be posted for the first nine weeks of our twelve chapter novella. At the end of each chapter, readers will have a few poll questions regarding the direction of the story. What do you, as a reader, think should happen next? You’ll be able to find out the results of the poll by reading the next chapters. We will alert you on Facebook (Women’s Fiction Club) and you’ll be able to engage the author and other readers/voters to discuss the book on as well.
For the last three chapters M.A. will take a week off to tie up all loose ends to complete the novella. The completed chapters will be put in an eBook and made available to readers for free. And yes, we want to know what you think of the ending, too!
About Our Author
Born in Orlando, Florida, inspiring author M.A. Kear spent the first part of her life in a little rural town of Pennsylvania, where she first discovered her love for storytelling and writing after the first story building exercise given to her in elementary school. At the time, those stories consisted of verbal retellings of unrealistic tales of her life, ones that didn’t fool her teachers at all, but in her mind, she had the most adventurous life in class. A box full of composition books, floppy disks and flash drives loaded with unfinished stories, and a couple moves across the country later, she found herself back in Orlando and going to school for Digital Media, Digital Art & Design, and Entertainment Business at Full Sail University.
Currently, M.A. works at a local nonprofit organization, providing copywriting, social media, graphical, marketing and web support, while helping coordinate local charity events toward their mission of fighting hunger in Central Florida. As when she was young, in her off time she finds herself immersed within stories, both of others and her own creations, and looks forward to the day when her adventures take her into the realm of being a full-time author.
God Doesn't Love Us All The Same, by Nina Guilbeau
Janine Harris never really thought about homeless people. She barely even notices them as she passes them by on her way to work in downtown Washington D.C. All Janine can focus on is the shambles of her own young life, afraid that she will never be able to get past the painful mistakes she has made. However, all of that changes on a snowy evening in December when Janine unexpectedly finds herself alone with Vera, an old, homeless woman who seems to need her help. Now Janie wants to know what could have possibly happened to Vera to leave her so broken and alone.
As Vera shares her life story with Janine, the two women form an unusual bond and begin a journey that changes both of their lives forever. Reluctantly, they each confront their own past and, in the process, discover the true meaning of sacrifice, family and love. Although to truly move forward in their lives, they must fast the most difficult challenge of all – forgiving themselves.
