Even before the birth of their great niece Celestina, the four Silvenfare sisters, who were also powerful elemental sorceresses, knew they had been entrusted with someone of great importance. All indicators pointed to Celestina being the child who would fulfill the prophecy, and save the land and all of its inhabitants from the dark powers.
On the night of Celestina’s birth, the sisters’ belief in the tiny baby’s role in the prophecy is confirmed as they battle creatures from the underworld who seek to do her harm. However while they all have great confidence in their powers, Bonnie wields WATER, Dollie FIRE, Doodle AIR and Myrtle EARTH, the battle itself seems too easy. It feels more like a distraction and the sisters can’t help feeling that something else had taken place. Unfortunately, they do not know what and they also don’t know how right they are. For unbeknownst to them their niece had delivered Little Celestina AND a second baby – a son.
The ruling demon of the ninth realm has taken the child. His plan is to use the powers of the male Silvenfare child that no one knows exist to challenge his twin sister, the prophetic savoir. With the defeat of Celestina, the Silvenfare sisters and their allies, darkness would rule over all. It was just a matter of time.
Celestina Silvenfare Book One: The Legend Begins by Kelly Lynne, is a young adult fantasy book and ends just as the twins, who still know nothing of each other, turn fourteen years old. This is a turning point for the siblings and book 2 presumably picks up to reveal what happens with the Silvenfare twins and the battle ….that is sure to come.
The book encompasses all the characteristics readers of fantasy novels enjoy such as fairies, creatures of the dark underworld, goddesses, sorcerers, castles and the variety of fantasy creatures in humanoid form. There is tameness to the story telling, which helps to engage younger readers, even though much happens within the “darker realm.”
