When My Heart is Overwhelmed
“This is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.” Isn’t this a wonderful way to begin a day? No matter what the circumstances are in our lives, we can purpose to open our eyes and begin each day knowing that there is a plan that is for our good. Now I cannot deny that bad things happen to good people but it is how we handle those bad things that determine our attitude toward life.
I went through a bad thing that not only shook my foundation but left a huge crack. What was once a solid rock became miry clay right before my eyes. I was overwhelmed. But in that state I determined to seek the “Rock that is higher than I”. It was a tough journey. On the way I was kicked, beaten, and slandered. But I didn’t give up. Now I again am on the solid Rock. Because of what I learned on the journey, this time I am on the Rock to stay. It is such a great place to be that I have made it a mandate for my life to help others find the Rock and join me in this unspeakable joy.
Through all of the horrors that this world can bring we can have righteousness, peace, and joy. When your heart is overwhelmed just cry out and ask to be led to the “Rock that is higher than I”. It won’t stop all of the bad things of the world but it sure will give you a joyful trip.
