You Are Worth More Than Gold!
God often speaks to me through songs and this morning He put the song “Gold” on my heart by Britt Nicole. This is a special and beautiful song; the lyrics of the chorus go like this, “This, this is for all the girls, boys all over the world. Whatever you’ve been told, you’re worth more than gold. So hold your head up high, it’s your time to shine. From the inside out it shows; you’re worth more than gold…” Wow, those are powerful words and what an impact they can make on our lives when we let the truth of them sink deep down into the recesses of our heart and mind!
God tells us in His Word that our faith is of greater worth than gold to Him (1 Peter 1:7). This Scripture says to me that I (my faith) am precious, beautiful, valuable and important to God! He spoke to my heart, through His Holy Spirit, this morning, telling me that life is not about my performance, my grades or getting things done. Life is about relationship. This was huge to me, freeing to me; for, I so often make life about getting things done and, sadly, I so often am critical of myself/judging myself on my performance, in that, I analize how well of a job I think I am doing of being a wife, mom, sister, friend, student etc. But the truth is, as a child of God, I am precious to Him, honored in His sight, He loves me (Isaiah 43:4a). I was created to know Him and believe Him and understand that He is God and there is no other (Isaiah 43:10).
I know and believe the above statements to be true, yet, too often my emotions and negative chatter in my head can steer me away from remembering or believing these truths. I am oh, so thankful that God, lovingly, steers me back to the truth, again and again, whenever I am in need of it and as I pause and focus on Him.
What about you? Do you know and believe that you are worth more than gold, to the Creator of the universe?! Do you believe that you are “one in a million?!” Do you know and believe that you are precious, beautiful, valuable and important to Him?! He loves you! Pause and think on that, today, dear friend. Believe it and let its truth sink deep down into the crevasses of your heart, mind and soul. Let it make a difference in your day, in your life! May you hold your head up high, today, and shine, from the inside out! Let your day and life be about knowing and believing the one, true God, the King of the universe, and not about “x, y, z;” (you fill in the blank ______________). And most of all, remember…
