I went for a walk this week, which is something I try to do at least four to five times a week, but this day it was different. I was walking the same “route” that I usually take to get my 30 minute walk in, when all of a sudden my ankle twisted and I was down on the ground, on the black top, on the side of the road! I hit the ground hard and was stunned.
After a few moments, I got myself up and continued my walk. But, now, my attitude and pace was different. I decided to slow down! It was amazing, not only did I enjoy my walk more, but I heard and saw things along the way that I was missing when I was walking quickly (to just try and burn off calories). I was slowing down my pace so that I, hopefully, would not fall down again and as a result, I was now hearing the birds chirping and seeing the beautiful wild flowers, that had been there all along but I failed to see or hear them before. I now try to keep this mentality and go for a walk each day, not to try and burn off calories, but to simply enjoy my walk, enjoy my day, enjoy the moment!
It made me think of that Simon & Garfunkel song from 1970, Slow down, you move too fast. You got to make the morning last. Just kicking down the cobble stones. Looking for fun and feelin’ groovy… or for you country fans, what about the Alabama song, I’m in a hurry to get things done. Oh, I rush and rush until life’s no fun. All I really gotta do is live and die but I’m in a hurry and don’t know why… Wow, I don’t know about you, but for me, those are some powerful words that I need to think about.
What about you? Are you rushing through life trying to get things done until life’s no fun? What might you be missing along the way, if you are rushing through the day? What can you do differently, to enjoy life more and have a little fun? I hope you take a moment to stop and enjoy life today. Be blessed, dear one. Life is a gift, enjoy it!

“Praying Scripture is the most powerful and effective way to pray for your marriage. It can be a daunting task to search out all the passages that apply, though. In this book, Tammy has done the hard work for us in compiling a beautiful arrangement of God's attributes along with verses to pray for myself, as a wife, and verses to pray over my husband and marriage. The Lord has used many of these passages to bear fruit in my own life and marriage."
