I don’t know about you but I am a woman who can often be tied to her to-do list. While having a to-do list can be a good thing (it helps me to get necessary things done), it can also rob me of peace and joy, if I let it; for I am the kind of person who can’t seem to relax until her to-do list is done. However, God is working on me regarding this.
As you may remember, if you have read any of my previous blogs, “my word” for the year is “be free!” Be free from being stressed out; be free from being down on myself or hard on myself etc., etc. For me, I believe part of being free is to be free from being tied to a to-do list, be free from being upset with myself if I did not accomplish all that I wanted to get done that day etc. Make sense?
One day, a few months back, when I was spending my time with God and being still before Him, in the morning after reading my Jesus Calling[1] devotional for the day, God’s Holy Spirit spoke to my heart and I wrote the following words in my journal…
God’s to-do list for me:
Be transparent!
Be a blessing!
Go out there [into the world] and love people with My love today!
God was saying to my heart, [Tammy] that’s all I want you to do, just the above three things. I thought to myself, I can do that! It makes my heart happy to do those things! My to-do list that I make for myself can overwhelm me but God’s to-do list for me is freeing, it brings my heart joy! I can look forward to the day, when that is my to-do list for the day!
The world is looking for people to be real. There is a lost and hurting world out there. May we all go out there and be transparent, be a blessing, love people with God’s love today and leave the results in His hands!
Application: What needs to come off of your to-do list? What are you putting on yourself that God is not putting on you? Who, in your life, needs an extra dose of God’s love today? How can you be a blessing today? What holds you back from being transparent with others?

Testimonials
“Praying Scripture is the most powerful and effective way to pray for your marriage. It can be a daunting task to search out all the passages that apply, though. In this book, Tammy has done the hard work for us in compiling a beautiful arrangement of God's attributes along with verses to pray for myself, as a wife, and verses to pray over my husband and marriage. The Lord has used many of these passages to bear fruit in my own life and marriage."
