If you look at this title and dismiss this blog as something that you don’t care to read, I challenge you to finish it all. It is much more than you think. People are pretty vocal about their opinions these days. Yes, everybody has at least one. But I have found that most people are only willing to stand for their opinions or beliefs to a point. When the rubber meets the road, many will back down in fear of what others may think or say. They also shrink back when they have doubts to the validity of what they think they believe. We do not like being wrong and we do not like being made fun of. Being wrong brings the potential of being made fun of. So we stick with our beliefs unless we have to make a stand. We can’t make a stand because we lack confidence in our beliefs. We lack confidence because we don’t know that we know, that we know, what we think we know. I say if you believe something you should act like you believe it or don’t bother believing it.
I have a solution to the confidence problem. Test what you believe or test what you want to believe. If your beliefs pass the test, then you should have no problem living persuaded by what you believe. Not being one hundred percent invested in your belief system can cause two major life problems. One, you will do everything half-heartedly because you will question whether what you are doing is what you should be doing. You will go about your life activities looking at your neighbor’s grass attempting to discern whose is greener. Two, you cannot convince anyone else to follow your lead if you are not totally invested. Thus you’ll lead a life of mediocrity and procrastination and you will not inspire or affect anyone else’s life. This includes your children. People who have had a great effect on this world, positively or negatively, did so because they totally threw themselves into what they believed.
You cannot be successful and inspiring until you can put 100 percent trust in what you do. So what is the point of spending your life professing a belief that you are not sure you believe.
Now I’ve come to the heart of the point that I want to make. Those of you who boldly declare a belief in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and the plan and finished work of Jesus Christ must declare a belief of one hundred percent persuasion. There is no room for half stepping. Either you believe or you don’t. Either you enter into covenant by faith or you don’t. It is that simple. There is no middle ground. If you are not sure put God to the test. Hold Him accountable to His Word. He actually tells us in His Word a number of times to prove Him, which means put Him to the test. He clearly tells us what He will and will not do. It is not a mystery.
Believers walk by faith but it is a faith that is proven. Our God does exactly what He says He will do and He does not fail. Those who think that He fails us on any level do not know His Word. This is the answer to those who cannot understand how true Christians can believe in this God who cannot be seen and have faith in the words from a book that they see as written by man. Our God has proven to us that He is the God of the Bible that He wrote through men He inspired. Getting into the Word of God is only the beginning of coming to really know Him. Really knowing Him is where abundant and successful living comes from. But getting into His Word is where we start. Then we are drawn by His Spirit into a relationship with Him. Our faith becomes belief.
Once your belief is established you can boldly reach out to others and inspire them to come to know our God who never fails. They will listen because you are living proof. They will listen because your compassion toward them will cause them to see how much our God loves them. He will be able to love them through you because you believe. Let God be God in your life and in you.
Pam Palmer Cooper
Intercession is not a type of prayer but more of an administration of all types of prayer. The Power of Intercession takes you deeper into the realm of “standing in the gap”. As with Prayer, the Language of the Kingdom, this book was created from the Prayer School Workshops that Pam Palmer Cooper has been teaching for over twenty years. She has also directed a number of Intercession groups in churches and rallies, including international gatherings.
Pam takes the mystery out of intercession by just plainly expounding on what God says in His Word using her wealth of experience. Sincere and fervent intercession is a vital necessity in the local church and the Body of Christ all over the world. Understanding its purpose and executing it biblically is a must for this season. If you have a passion for prayer, The Power of Intercession will fan the flame.
Prayer, the Language of the Kingdom, by Pam Palmer Cooper was created from the lessons of the Prayer School Workshops. It is presented in an easy to read and enjoyable format, helping believers make the most out of these important teachings.
Prayer is the language of the Kingdom of God. When we pray effectively, the Will of God is accomplished in the earth. Thy will be done as it is in heaven.
The prayers of the righteous makes tremendous power available thereby bringing forth dynamic works (James 5:16 Amplified paraphrased).
