It is the end of the year. It is the time when we snuggle down and allow the memories of the past year to captivate our thoughts. Some say that we should not dwell in the past. But at this time of the year, I say let the past pour over you. Bring to your remembrance every bad thing and every good thing. Remember every good decision and every bad decision. All that you can bring up, bring up and contemplate because it will soon be the past. When the year is over these things must be laid to rest but right now they serve as the platforms for the year to come.
It is important that we live life on purpose. Everything that happens has importance. It is up to us to focus on the lessons we should learn from the good and the bad. So get your soothing beverage or your comfort food. Wrap up in your snuggie and contemplate. I am not talking about wallowing in self-pity. I am speaking of purposely strategizing. Write it down to make it plain to you. Look at your mistakes as tools for equipping. Look at your victories as only the beginning. If this has been a great year for you, rejoice, but also be prepared for the future with a willingness to help others. If your year was not so great and you were doing your best, you should prepare for your harvest. If you just wasted time, purpose in your heart to not let that be next year’s testimony. If you have caused pain, make restitution if possible. If you have been hurt, forgive. If you have something going on that has to carry over to the next year, remember you got through last year and God will not forsake you. Your breakthrough is on the way.
The end of the year is a critical time for your future. It is what you decide in these next few days that will determine your success or failure for this coming year. This time should be taken seriously. I’m not talking about New Year Resolutions. I’m speaking of life decisions that direct your path.
So after you have contemplated and snuggled under the thoughts of last year and you are thoroughly convinced that you have covered everything, you then must pray. Put it all before the One who knows all. He will take what you have come up with and put in proper perspective for you. There may be a few tears shed or maybe even a lot. But the results of this time will be worth the anguish.
Now you should have a plan. If not the plan is on the way. So jump up and throw off the snuggie. Rejoice for the New Year is coming in with great possibilities. It’s a new day. Sing, dance, and be joyful because blessings are on the way. If you doubt this, then you might as well pick up the snuggie because your circumstances won’t change until you do.
Pam Palmer Cooper
Intercession is not a type of prayer but more of an administration of all types of prayer. The Power of Intercession takes you deeper into the realm of “standing in the gap”. As with Prayer, the Language of the Kingdom, this book was created from the Prayer School Workshops that Pam Palmer Cooper has been teaching for over twenty years. She has also directed a number of Intercession groups in churches and rallies, including international gatherings.
Pam takes the mystery out of intercession by just plainly expounding on what God says in His Word using her wealth of experience. Sincere and fervent intercession is a vital necessity in the local church and the Body of Christ all over the world. Understanding its purpose and executing it biblically is a must for this season. If you have a passion for prayer, The Power of Intercession will fan the flame.
Prayer, the Language of the Kingdom, by Pam Palmer Cooper was created from the lessons of the Prayer School Workshops. It is presented in an easy to read and enjoyable format, helping believers make the most out of these important teachings.
Prayer is the language of the Kingdom of God. When we pray effectively, the Will of God is accomplished in the earth. Thy will be done as it is in heaven.
The prayers of the righteous makes tremendous power available thereby bringing forth dynamic works (James 5:16 Amplified paraphrased).
