I love it when God shows me something new while studying a familiar passage of Scripture! And that’s just what He recently did for me while studying John 2: 1-11 where Jesus performs His first miracle and turns the water into wine, while at a wedding feast.
I was doing my Bible study homework for a women’s Bible study that I am in when the application question – If you had been a wedding guest, what do you imagine your reaction would have been to this miracle – changed my whole outloook on things! After rereading the text and pondering this question for awhile, I came to the conclusion that I am not really sure or certain that the other guest (outside of Jesus, the disciples, Jesus’ mother Mary, and the servants) would have been aware of the miracle that Jesus had just done! And then the personal application analogy popped into my head: Wow, I believe God is doing miracles all around me/us all the time, it’s just that I/we don’t always see, know, or realize it! How exciting, encouraging, and wonderful is that?! I now find myself often saying a prayer thanking my Heavenly Father for all the miracles that He is doing and all the ways He is working that I am not even aware of or that I don’t realize! This infuses such hope and joy in my spirit when I think on this truth and it sends despair, depression, and/or discouragement fleeing!
Be encouraged today and thank God, both, for the things that He is doing that you can see and then thank Him, too, for the many things that He is doing that you simply do not see! He is a good God who loves us all so very much and He is always working – doing miracles, big and small, every single day! Pause and think on that!
Application Questions:
1. How would it change your perspective, attitude, and emotions if you believed that God was working in ways that you just don’t see with your physical eyes?
2. What miracle do you need to believe God for?
3. What is holding you back from believing God for the big and little things in your life and the lives of others?

“Praying Scripture is the most powerful and effective way to pray for your marriage. It can be a daunting task to search out all the passages that apply, though. In this book, Tammy has done the hard work for us in compiling a beautiful arrangement of God's attributes along with verses to pray for myself, as a wife, and verses to pray over my husband and marriage. The Lord has used many of these passages to bear fruit in my own life and marriage."
