I was reading 1 Peter chapter five from The Message this week. When reading my bible I always look for the truths found in the passage of Scripture that I am reading and then I make an application question to apply the truth to my life. This particular morning, I said a prayer (which was my application question) asking God to please show me the way forward. Below are just a few of the things God spoke to my heart and/or showed me, in response to my question. I journaled:
Wow! That is quite some list. The thing that stuck out at me the most was the point that I am to be content with myself. I believe it is a powerful, beautiful, and freeing thing to be content with who we are. It’s just not always an easy thing to do. But I believe the more we choose to do this, the easier or more natural it will become. Why is it that we as women so often look at the things in us that we are not content with? We need to remember that we have been fearfully and wonderfully made by our Creator who loves us (Psalm 139:14). He looks at what He has made and says, “It is good” (Genesis Ch. 1).
I heard the song, Gold, by Britt Nicole this week. It went right along with what God was telling my heart and the things He wanted me to focus on. The words are powerful, beautiful and life-giving! Take a moment and google the song on your phone and be blessed as you hear the words being sung, “… Whatever you’ve been told, you’re worth more than gold. So hold your head up high, it’s your time to shine. From the inside out it shows, you’re worth more than gold… You’re one in a million!”
Application Questions:
1) What are some things that God may be telling your heart, regarding how to move forward?
2) Is anything on the above bullet point list “jumping out” at you?
3) What actions do you need to take in response to anything that is tugging at your heart? …Remember, dear one, “Whatever you’ve been told, you’re worth more than gold!”

“Praying Scripture is the most powerful and effective way to pray for your marriage. It can be a daunting task to search out all the passages that apply, though. In this book, Tammy has done the hard work for us in compiling a beautiful arrangement of God's attributes along with verses to pray for myself, as a wife, and verses to pray over my husband and marriage. The Lord has used many of these passages to bear fruit in my own life and marriage."
